Summer wine
One week in my summer house on the island Öland. Sun, beach and just relaxing with family. Late dinners and sipping summer wines.
Went to the Systembolaget (state wine store) in Färjestaden to pick out some wines. Rosé is never wrong in the summer, Riesling from Kamptal Austria as well, and a light Morgon from Georges Duboeuf made of gamay.
Domaine de Collavery, Provence. A light pink rosé, dry, young and fresh with hint of raspberry, wild strawberry and herbs. A nice touch of orange and apricot.
A nice classic rosé worth the money. (79 skr)
Leth rosé Zweigelt, Austria. Compared with Dom. de Collavery more red than pink but a beautiful color. Young and fresh yet elegant. Wild strawberry and red currant. At the end a nice taste of sweet blood orange.
One of my favorite the last three summers and well worth 79 skr.
Warm summer nights I love a light red to the grilled pork, aioli and fresh summer potatoes. I really like the light reds from south of France and I want it chilled. Morgon from Duboeuf is a great representative. Berry, young and hint of green grass. Some herbs and tasty bleuberry. Great choice this summer at only 89 skr.
The last wine is a favorite. Austrian Loimer Lenz Riesling. Dry, fresh with hints of honey and green apple. Beautiful taste of japanese pear and light citrus.
These summer wines will go with all our meals without problem and are great for just sipping before dinner or the neighbor drop by.
Have a nice summer!
